Dr Dupe S. Ademola-Popoola ( Nee Ogedengbe) was born in Ikare- Akoko, Ondo State Nigeria.She attended the College of Medicine, University of Lagos for her Basic Medical degree (MB;BS) 1986-1991.
She is a Senior Lecturer in the department of Ophthalmology, University of Ilorin and a Honorary Consultant to the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital.
Her focus is on Paediatric Ophthalmology, Strabismus and Ophthalmic Oncology .
She uses and teaches Telemedicine ( Cybersight) as a tool for capacity building in a resource limited country where she practices.
She is involved in the training of Medical Students, Resident Doctors and Fellowship Training in Paediatric Ophthalmology in Nigeria.
She has presented several papers at Conferences around the world; and has published articles in Journals.
As as a change agent, she enjoys making a difference aimed at bringing out the best in difficult situations and in uncharted paths. She enjoys mentoring, and is passionate about training of different groups of individuals including allied eye health workers, medical students, resident doctors and Fellows in paediatric ophthalmology &Strabismus sub-specialty.
Her internship was at the State Specialist Hospital Akure in 1992, One Year National Youth Services was at Bassa Cottage Hospital, Plateau State and at the Federal Government Girls College Clinic in Akure, Ondo State. She worked as a Medical Officer in Ophthalmology department from December 1993-1995 started Residency training Mid 1995 and completed in 2001 when she bagged the Fellowship of the National Post graduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOphth) in Ophthalmology and the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeon (FWACS) in 2001 after completing clinical rotations and training in Ophthalmology at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital(UITH), Lagos University Teaching Hospital and University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan. She subsequently did sub-specialty training in Paediatric Ophthalmology at the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, Andrea Pradesh, India (2007) and Ophthalmic Oncology using the International Council of Ophthalmology scholarship at the Eye and Laser World Centre, Giza Egypt and Rod El Farag National Eye Centre Cairo, Egypt (2009).
She was a Hospital Consultant at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital from 2001 to 2011 and an associate Lecturer at the University of Ilorin from 1999-2011.
She was Chief Resident 1998-2001, director of residency training 2002-2009,
Head of Ophthalmology department, UITH 2009-2011,
Deputy Chairman Medical Advisory Committee- D-CMAC - Clinical services UITH from 2011.

She is a member of Technical Committee that developed the Curriculum for the Training of Paediatric Ophthalmology Sub-specialty in Nigeria and also for West African Sub-Region.

She is a resource person for update courses, Residency training examinations, member of accreditation team, Scientific Conference planning team and a Faculty of Ophthalmology board member for the National postgraduate Medical College in Ophthalmology and West African College of Surgeon. She has worked as a member of several committees at the University Teaching Hospital and the University.
She hosted ORBIS International DC-10 Aircraft Flying Eye Hospital and a Hospital Based Program in Ilorin from February 28th -March 18th 2011 when 52 international Volunteer Faculties from 28 countries participated. She has been involved as a volunteer in several medical outreaches to communities and the less privileged.
She is involved in strong advocacy for Child eye health in Nigeria, including the sponsor of a bill at the Kwara State House of Assembly.
Her Practice if focused on Paediatric cataract, glaucoma, Strabismus and Retinoblastoma.

She is an international travel grant award winner of Marilyn Miller Foundation of American Academy of Paediatric & Strabismus in 2013

Also the World Ophthalmology Congress Travel grant winner in Abu Dhabi in 2012.
