Gordana Sunaric Mégevand trained ophthalmology at the University Hospital Geneva, followed by a fellowship in glaucoma and anterior surgery in Capetown, South Africa.
After several years of clinical and basic science activity at the University Hospital in Geneva where she was the head of the Glaucoma Unit 1996-2001 she is now affiliated to the Rothschild Memorial in Geneva as well as practicing in a private office.
She is co-founder and member of the first executive office of the Swiss Glaucoma Group, chair of the CME and certification committee of the European Glaucoma Society and for the past 8 years Vice-president of the European Board of Ophthalmology and Chair of the Residency Review Committee. She is Swiss National Delegate to the UEMS since 2005.
Since 2011 she is in charge and responsible of the accreditation of e-learning with EACCME (European Accreditation Council for Continuous Medical Education).
Since January 2012 she is Director of the Clinical Research Centre of the Rothschild Memorial in Geneva.
Her main clinical interests are in glaucoma diagnosis and its medical and surgical therapy as well as in other anterior segment surgeries. She has performed non-penetrating glaucoma surgery since 1997, subject of several publications.
