Experienced ophthalmic surgeon who handles high volume cataract, cornea and anterior segment surgeries safely with excellent outcome. I have a special interest in cataract surgery, corneal and advanced ocular surface diseases. I have completed two highly specialized fellowships in the UK; first for two years in Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton focused on anterior segment surgery and the second in Birmingham with emphasis on management of corneal disorders and advanced ocular surface diseases. I have solid health management experience managing all levels of health systems including budgeting and administration. With broad global experience, I shared in and led eye care programs in more than 15 countries.

I have strong academic and clinical experience. I graduated with honour from Kasr-Al-Aini medical school in Egypt in 1997. I completed my basic and higher ophthalmological training in Kasr-Al-Aini teaching hospitals in Cairo, Egypt. Throughout my term there, I regularly shared in students and residents teaching and training as well as organizing and delivering eye care for patients. I have a master degree in community eye health from LSHTM, London University. Clinically, I consider myself an experienced ophthalmologist who worked in the UK for more than seven years with special interest in anterior segment disorders and advanced corneal surgery. My work has been recognized and published in different peer reviewed journals.
