The prevalence of Adenoviral conjunctivitis in Tikrit district and the role of the traditional medicine "OM AL KAASH" in transmission of the disease and the severity of complications. Published by Tikrit Medical Journal in 2011.
Results:
• The prevalence of adenoviral kerato-conjunctivitis came in the second place (28%), after allergic kerato-conjunctivitis (44%) of the 10,000 cases' sample.
• Adenoviral kerato-conjunctivitis was at the top of the infectious conjunctivitis (52.1%), followed by bacterial kerato-conjunctivitis (39.2%) and then other viral conjunctivitis (2%)

The role of Taurine (Bstoxolol) drops in improving vision in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Published by Tikrit Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2011.
Results:
• Of the 100 patients with diabetic retinopathy at different stages, 64% of the cases mentioned improvement in the visual field after using topical bestoxolol for one month.
• Visual acuity tests determined that 41% of the cases had showed visual improvement at least one line on Snellen's chart.
• 21% of the cases showed variable degrees of retinal improvement.

Topical Timolol side effects: Patient's awareness, prevention, prescription and pretreatment assessment. Published by Tikrit Medical Journal in 2010.
Results:
• Of the 500 open-glaucoma cases, 97% of patients did not have complete information about the drug timolol.
• 90% of cases did not know how to prevent complications when they happen.
• 83% of cases received their medication from their specialist doctors, 10% from their permanent ophthalmologist and 7% from their GPs.
• Weak link between ophthalmologists and physicians was detected- only 5%of the cases were sent for consultation before commencing treatment.

Retinoscopy/Autorefraction: which is the best?
Results:
• For the mean spherical equivalent (M), the autorefractor yields more negative values (-0.44 -/+ 0.54D; P=0.000)
• For the Jackson cross-cylinder at axis 0' (J'), the autorefractor yields more positive values than Retinoscopy results (0.05-/+0.13D; P=0.000)
• For the Jackson cross-cylinder at axis 45' (J45), the autorefractor yields more negative (-0.02-/+ 0.09D; P=0.019)
