The 9GA theme is “Eye Health - Everyone’s Business." Its keynote lectures and speakers will focus on strengthening health systems, thereby highlighting the linkages between VISION 2020’s objectives and health care delivery.
The International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) General Assembly will include keynote lectures, short presentations, clinical courses and administrative courses related to blindness and visual impairment. The assembly will focus on the progress of VISION 2020: The Right to Sight, IAPB's global joint initiative with the World Health Organization for the elimination of blindness.
Specific topics include: Upscaling Blindness Prevention Efforts: The Paradigm Shift Needed; Diabetic Retinopathy – New Paradigms for Management in Areas of Limited Resources; Cataract; Human Resource Development; Sustainability of Eye Health Systems; Data Collection and Information Management; Trachoma and Program Management.
This event is positioned to attract a broad audience from the health and development sectors, leveraging VISION 2020 and IAPB as success stories in multi-sector public-private partnerships for public health. It is being organized with the L V Prasad Eye Institute.
