The course is offered twice a year, once in April and once in August.  Each session is four weeks long.

Participants spend significant time in Aravind's tertiary and secondary care hospitals, vision centers, community centers, and outreach "eye camp" activities--seeing and questioning the practices they learn about in class.

Class time is a combination of case discussions and lectures supplemented by reading assignments and exercises.

Accommodation can be arranged at Inspiration – Aravind trainee’s hostel.

Participants from India and Nepal pay a Rs. 20,000 course fee. All other overseas participants pay US $750. 12.36% service tax is applicable on the course fee. Costs include tuition, teaching materials, and field visits.
