The Conference for Ophthalmic Educators offers expert instruction, interactive workshops, and group discussion for ophthalmic educators. Educators of ophthalmology residents, fellows, medical students, CME, and allied ophthalmic personnel will learn about the latest tools and practice techniques of modern education.

The San Francisco Conference for Ophthalmic Educators will be held on 12 October 2019 from 14:00–17:30, at the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Annual Meeting in San Francisco, USA.


Attend your choice of two workshop sessions and group discussion during the afternoon. Whether you are a resident or have taught for a long time, these sessions will help you improve your teaching effectiveness and provide an opportunity to connect with other educators from around the world.


  • Attend: The Conference is open to all registered attendees of AAO 2019. No course passes are required for this session. (SYM09 in the program.)
  • Location: Moscone Convention Center on Saturday, 12 October 2019 from 14:00–17:30, Room South 304
  • CME Credit: Categorized as a symposium of AAO 2019, the Conference can be claimed for CME credit as part of the AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ designated to AAO 2019.



The Conference is being organized by Drs. Ana Gabriela Palis, Karl Golnik, Eduardo Mayorga, Laura Wayman. Faculty will include recognized experts in the field and will be announced at a later date.
