How to navigate the Eye Site
The primary sections of the Eye Site are listed in the sets of links on the left and in the upper right of each page. Click on any title to go to that section.
The primary pages or subsections within each section are listed in the blue box on the right. Again, click on a title to go to that page.
ICO Eye Site map/table of contents
A Site Map that lists all of the sections and subsections and most of the individual pages in the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) Web site is also available.
Click on any section or page in the Site Map to go there.
(The ICO is the executive body and operational arm of the International Federation of Ophthalmological Societies (IFOS).)
Search the Eye Site
To search the site, type one or more in the words in the small horizontal box labeled "Search" on the top right side of every page and click the "Go" button, or press "Enter."
An advanced search function is also available.
Other links on every page
Click on the ICO logo on the upper left side of any page to return to the Home page.
For other ways to contact the ICO and ophthalmologic societies, see Contact.
Link colors and style
The blue area outside the white contents of each page contains the primary navigation links for the full Eye Site, which appear in white.
If you have a reasonably current browser, when you move the mouse over a link, the text will be underlined.
Within the white content part of each page, links to other sites, to pages in this site or to other places on a page appear in blue type that is somewhat bolder than regular text.
In current browsers, when you move the mouse over a link, the text will change to red with underlining.
A link that has already been visited will show in darker blue.
Other navigational tools
Most pages in the Eye Site have links to the next logical page ("Next:...") and to the top of the page ("Top") at the bottom of the content section.
Many pages also have links at the bottom to other relevant pages ("Also see:...")
All pages have "bread crumbs" near the bottom of the content section ("You are here:...") that show the path from the Home page to that page on the site, with links to each level on the path.
Using the ICO database of ophthalmological societies and residencies
The ICO maintains a database of ophthalmologic societies and residency programs around the world, which can be accessed from the Eye Site.
The information in the database is not included in a search of the Eye Site, but the database can be searched separately.
See the instructions and tips for accessing the ICO database.
Accessibility statement and tools
The ICO has made every effort to make the Eye Site accessible to users with different capabilities, particularly those with low vision and who are blind.
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions about the accessibility of this site, please send them to access@icoph.org.
