ICO: International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) founded in 1927 in Scheveningen, Holland
IFOS: International Federation of Ophthalmologic Societies (IFOS) founded in 1933 in Madrid, Spain
IAPB: International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), founded in 1972.
VISION 2020: The Right to Sight is a joint effort by World Health Organization (WHO), IAPB, ICO and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), announced in February 1999 in Geneva, Switzerland.
