WOC 2012 Registration–See You in Abu Dhabi

Dear ICO Members and Friends,

A few short reports:

1. WOC 2012 Early Bird Registration Available

The 33rd World Ophthalmology Congress® (WOC) is February 16-20, 2012, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Now is the time to make your plans to attend this important gathering of world ophthalmologists. You can take advantage of the early bird rate and register on or before July 30, 2011, by visiting the WOC 2012 Web site: www.woc2012.org/register_online.html.

Registrations made after December 15, 2011, must be made onsite at the Congress.

2. Free WOC Registration for ICO Representatives

I cordially invite all ophthalmologists of our ICO Members to participate in the WOC, February 16-20, 2012, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

The Congress offers free registration for the official Representative to the ICO from each member society, so that every member can participate in the ICO General Assembly on February 16.

If you have not already done so, please let us know your Official ICO Representative for 2012 as soon as possible: send their name, e-mail address, country, and society name to info@icoph.org. We will then arrange Congress registration for the Official Representative.

Although WOC 2012 registration is now available at woc2012.org/register_online.html, we ask that Official ICO Representatives do not complete online registration. The ICO will work with Congress organizers to arrange free registration for your Official Representative. Again, please send an e-mail to info@icoph.org to let us know the name of your Official Representative as soon as you are able.

3. Please Help Publicize WOC 2012

We would appreciate whatever you can do to inform your members and others about the 2012 World Ophthalmology Congress® and encourage them to join us February 16-20 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Please add a link to the Congress, www.woc2012.org, to your Web site. You can also disseminate information about the WOC 2012 by using the share tools available at the top of the WOC 2012 Web site. Also, WOC 2012 is on Facebook. Go to http://www.facebook.com/WOC2012AbuDhabi and "like" us!

Feel free to use these tools in your communications to your members and partners. Thank you in advance for helping us make ophthalmologists and others involved in eye care aware of the Congress.

4. June 1 WOC Abstract Submission Deadline

The WOC 2012 Scientific Program Committee is putting out its final call for abstract submissions at: www.woc2012.org/call_for_papers.html. Abstracts can be submitted for free papers, posters, videos or instruction courses. Please note: The abstract submission deadline is June 1, 2011.

All abstracts must be submitted in English. Submissions will be reviewed by the WOC 2012 Scientific 
Program Coordinators and the Scientific Program Committee. Primary authors will be notified of acceptance by July 15, 2011.

5. ICO General Assembly Meeting, Thursday, February 16

The ICO General Assembly, the biennial meeting of ICO Member societies, will be held in conjunction with the 2012 World Ophthalmology Congress (WOC) in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It will be held on Thursday, February 16, from 13:30 to 17:00.
