New ICO Web Site Tools to Post Society News

January 2012

ICO President Bruce Spivey, MD, MS, MEd

Dear ICO Members and Friends,

I am looking forward to seeing you in just a few weeks, at the World Ophthalmology Congress® in Abu Dhabi!

We invite you to find educational tools and other resources, and to post your own Society events and news throughout the year, on the ICO Web site. With the aim of making our Web site as helpful as possible, we have developed an array of new Web features for your convenience.

1. New ICO Web Site Tools to Post Society Meetings, News and Educational Tools

We are pleased to invite ICO Members to feature your news, Society meetings and information on educational programs, curricula and other tools on the ICO Web site. Please explore the new features that we have added for your convenience, at www.icoph.org:

Events and news submitted by Members will be included alongside your society profile and in our main events and news pages on the Web site.

If you have additional information or have questions about submitting an item for posting, please email us at news@icoph.org.

Note that to submit items for posting, you must have an individual ICO profile. If you do not have an ICO profile you can quickly create one at icoph.org/createaccount.html. This profile is free and easy to set up, and you can share as much or as little contact information as you prefer.

2. See You in Abu Dhabi

We look forward to seeing you at the World Ophthalmology Congress® (WOC 2012) in Abu Dhabi next month, for an exciting array of scientific programs and events. This promises to be a first class, worldwide conference, in a beautiful and safe location.

We hope that you will join us for the WOC Opening Ceremony on Thursday, February 16, at 11:00, at the scientific meetings, and on the floor of the Exhibition Center, with over 150 exhibitors. We hope to see ICO Members and Society leaders at the ICO General Assembly, in the afternoon on February 16, at 14:00.

As you may know, 30 European CME Credits are now available for the WOC scientific program, and may be validated for credits in other countries. You can find more on CME credits at icoph.org/WOC-CME.

If you have any outstanding questions about your WOC registration or visas, please email the WOC 2012 Registration Team at pco@woc2012.org.

3. New ICO Directory of Ophthalmic Societies at the WOC 2012 General Assembly

Thanks to everyone who submitted updates for the ICO Directory of Ophthalmologic Societies, which lists all of the national and international ophthalmologic societies in the world.

Please look for your copy of the new ICO Directory at the ICO General Assembly meeting on February 16, at 14:00 in Abu Dhabi. We will also post a PDF version of the ICO Directory on the ICO Web site, following the WOC 2012.

You may wish to update your society profile information on the ICO Web site, if you have not yet done so, in order that the information will be correct for Web site visitors and for future editions of the ICO Directory. Please view your society profile online at icoph.org/SocietyProfile.html. You can find detailed instructions for updating your profile at: icoph.org/Directory_Instructions.pdf.

If you cannot log-in or cannot update your society profile, please email us at info@icoph.org.

We are always interested in your feedback. Please reply to this email or send comments to info@icoph.org if you have any suggestions or comments about our Web site.

With warm regards,

Bruce
