Dear IFOS Members,
Ophthalmologic societies in Denmark, the Philippines, Portugal and Romania have already scheduled the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO) presentation on “Enhancing Training To Meet the Need for Eye Care” at a future Congress, as requested by ICO Director for Advocacy Hugh Taylor, MD (see www.icoph.org/news/ifos0609training.html).
We look forward to hearing from other International Federation of Ophthalmological Societies (IFOS) Members and working with you to improve training of ophthalmologists and other eye care providers.
Other IFOS notes and reminders:

4. Contemporary Ophthalmology Praises ICO Web site
A recent issue of the journal Comprehensive Ophthalmology Update contained a very positive review of the ICO Web site, along with a clear description of ICO and IFOS and our goals. You can download the review from: www.icoph.org/pdf/ICOWebsiteReview.pdf.
For the contents of recent issues of the journal, see www.ingentaconnect.com/content/smp/cou.
Comprehensive Ophthalmology Update Editor Bernie Schwartz, MD, has offered a discount on subscriptions to members of the ICO and IFOS. If you are interested, go to www.compophupdate.com/subinfo.htm to download the subscription form and write “ICO” on the line for approved societies and meetings.
