BEST NATIONAL FREE PAPER ON OPHTHALMOLOGY, and
BEST NATIONAL FREE PAPER ON PREVENTION OF BLINDNESS |
The 2006 World Ophthalmology Congress, scheduled February 20 24 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, will provide free registration to the first author of the best free paper on ophthalmology and the best free paper on prevention of blindness from each country, as determined by the national ophthalmologic society.
We ask that national societies select the best papers from their country in advance, according to their own criteria. Then inform the BEST NATIONAL FREE PAPER Committee Coordinator, Pran Nagpal, MD.
More specifically, we would request that each national society:
1. Name an individual or committee in your country to take responsibility for selecting the best free paper on ophthalmology and the best free paper on prevention of blindness, according to your own criteria.
2. Publicize the award to your members.
3. Ask members to submit abstracts for free papers both to the national society and to the Congress (at www.ophthalmology2006.com.br). June 15, 2005 is the deadline for submission of abstracts to the societies in order to qualify for the award.
4. After June 15th, select the best paper in ophthalmology and best in prevention of blindness from your country.
5. By June 25th, inform Pran Nagpal, MD, at manishad1@sancharnet.in of the title, institution, authors and e-mail contact for the two winning papers.
6. Make sure that the abstracts for the winning papers have also been submitted at www.ophthalmology2006.com.br, no later than the Congress abstract submission deadline of July 29, 2005, according to the Congress rules.
The Congress will contact the first author of each winning paper and waive their registration fee.
We also appreciate all that you can do to promote the World Ophthalmology Congress to your members. Congress information is available at www.ophthalmology2006.com.br. You you can find suggestions and graphics for promoting the Congress at www.icoph.org/congress/promo.html.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us or any of the Committee members.
Thanking you in advance, we remain
Sincerely yours,
Steve Ryan, MD Scientific Program Chair
