Join us at the World Ophthalmology Congress 2018 (WOC2018) in Barcelona for the World Ophthalmic Education Colloquium (WOEC) series of symposia and courses that spotlight a variety of educational techniques. The WOEC sessions are designed for a diverse audience, from trained educators to practicing ophthalmologists interested in education.
Eight WOEC symposia and courses will be held during WOC2018 16–19 June 2018.

This recently released monograph is a continuing medical education activity from New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and MedEdicus LLC and provides a comprehensive and updated overview on the best strategies for diagnosing and managing dry eye.

The “Understand the Science of Safety” module of the Comprehensive Unit-Based Safety Program (CUSP) Toolkit discusses the importance of understanding system design, safe design principles, and valuing diverse input from team members. By analyzing patient safety as a science, frontline providers will offer a higher quality of patient-centered care on their hospital unit.
An emergency manual is available as an app for both Android and Apple. The content within this app was developed by ophthalmic and emergency clinicians of the New South Wales Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI). It provides a quick and simple guide to recognizing important signs and symptoms, and management of common eye emergencies.
The second edition of Phacoemulsification and Intraocular Lens Implantation: Mastering Techniques and Complications in Cataract Surgery is available.
This edition is greatly expanded in size and scope to accommodate the latest state-of-the-art methodologies and refinements in surgical strategies.
The Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) 2018 annual meeting will be in Basel, Switzerland, from 25–29 August 2018.
Calls for abstract submissions for AMEE 2018 have been announced. Please note the short timeline for Research Papers and Doctoral Reports.
