New ICO-OSCAR for Small Incision Cataract Surgery

We are excited to announce a new ICO-Ophthalmology Surgical Competency Assessment Rubric (OSCAR) for Small Incision Cataract Surgery (SICS).

The ICO-OSCAR is a behavioral and skill-based rubric to teach and assess an ophthalmologist’s competence.  This allows evaluators to use the rubric to objectively measure the resident’s capability in performing a specific procedure.  It also gives learners a tool to better gauge their own effectiveness.
