May 11, 2018 A Simple Way to Improve a Billion Lives: Eyeglasses

The New York Times recently wrote an article, A Simple Way to Improve a Billion Lives: Eyeglasses, which looks at the global issue of eyesight, which estimates say affects between one and 2.5 billion people.

It also looks at the work done by organizations like EYElliance, a nonprofit group trying to raise money and bring attention to the problem of uncorrected vision. In 2015, only $37 million was spent on delivering eyeglasses to people in the developing world, less than one percent of resources devoted to global health issues. EYElliance is trying to change that.
