Invitation to Review New ICO Curriculum for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus

Posted on January 31, 2017
Topic: ICO Programs and Initiatives

A new ICO Subspecialty Curriculum for Training in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus is available for online review until February 10, 2017. The ICO and the curriculum’s co-chairs, Drs. Dorothy Fan and Christopher Yu, welcome your feedback regarding the curriculum’s accuracy of content, ease of adaptability, and regional relevance.

The subspecialty curricula endeavor to present an international consensus on what ophthalmologic subspecialists in training should be taught, with the intention that the curricula will be adapted and modified to meet local and regional needs. Review and comment on the draft Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Subspecialty Curriculum now.

The ICO Residency Curriculum and subspecialty curricula for cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery; neuro-ophthalmology; glaucoma; and oculoplastics are available for download from the ICO website at: http://www.icoph.org/refocusing_education/curricula.html.

We are grateful for the commitment and involvement of ICO Subspecialty Member Societies in the ongoing development of subspecialty curricula. Societies contributing to the first seven subspecialty curricula in development can be found at: http://icocurriculum.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_1.html#SSPsocieties.
