WOC2018: By the Numbers

A little more than a year away, the 2018 World Ophthalmology Congress® (WOC2018), June 16–19 in Barcelona, Spain, will offer a compelling scientific program bringing together top specialists from around the world to share their expertise and experience.

Here are some relevant numbers: 

  • 86 ICO Member Societies (46 subspecialty, 36 national and 4 supranational) will participate in the scientific program with 71 sessions. 
  • WOC2018 co-host, the Spanish Society of Implant-Refractive Ocular Surgery, will have 32 sessions over the 4-day Congress. 
  • 132 invited program subspecialty coordinators have organized 110 sessions. 
  • The submitted program will consist of 60 instruction courses, 48 free paper sessions, and another potential 48 poster pod sessions (interactive poster presentations) covering 20 subspecialties and interests. 
  • The WOC Barcelona Film Festival will offer approximately 60 videos. 
  • 28 topics in 7 subspecialties will be discussed over 2 days at the WOC Breakfast Club.
