Number of Ophthalmologists in Practice and Training Worldwide

Between March 2010 and April 2010, the ICO emailed a standardized survey of 12 questions to 213 global ophthalmic societies. Missing data and additional information were gathered from direct correspondence with ophthalmologist contacts.

The results were published in the June 2012 issue of the British Journal of Ophthalmology (BJO). View the article: The number of ophthalmologists in practice and in training worldwide: a growing gap despite more than 200,000 practitioners.
