Late-Breaking News Abstracts

Late-breaking abstracts will be accepted 15–29 March 2018.

The late-breaking news abstracts guidelines are available for you to review now. Check back on 15 March for the Submission Form. Authors will be notified by 26 April 2018.

"Late-Breaking News" abstracts highlight results from rapidly advancing investigations that may have only recently become available. Submissions should present novel and substantive studies of high impact that will further enrich the scientific program. These abstracts are not a second deadline for regular abstract submissions and revisions to previously rejected abstracts will not be considered. 

Abstract Submission Notifications

Abstract notifications will be sent to the presenting author via email late-February 2018. Please set your email account (including spam filter) to accept messages from “” Be sure to save your submission notification email for reference in case of a problem or question. Your notification will include the assigned session, date and time.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

The Submitted Program will consist of Free Papers, E-Posters, E-Videos, Instruction Courses and Poster Pods in 20 subspecialty areas. Submissions will be accepted in both English and Spanish. There will be 48 Free Paper sessions, 60 submitted instruction Courses and an E-Poster and E-Video viewing area scheduled all 4 days of the Congress (Saturday through Tuesday, 16-19 June). In addition, 4 Poster Pods with interactive E-Poster presentations will rotate throughout each day.

Submission Areas

WOC2018 will include a scientific program of over 350 sessions addressing all subspecialties and related interests in ophthalmology. Abstracts for the Submitted Program will be accepted into the following areas:
