The scope of this framework is further intended to include procurement, processing, distribution and clinical application of other medical products of human origin, where this application constitutes delivery of ophthalmological services, such as amniotic membrane transplantation. This Framework is informed by the WHO Guiding Principles on Human Cell,Tissue, and Organ Transplantation (2010), the World Medical Association (WMA) Statement on Human Tissue for Transplantation (2007), and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights(1947).
