Standards developed by other organizations, not approved by the ICO
The following standards, guidelines and recommendations have been developed by other organizations and have not been approved or adopted by the ICO:
- International clinical disease severity scales for diabetic retinopathy and diabetic macular edema.
Guidelines from Royal College of Ophthalmologists
Various clinical guidelines are also available from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists of the United Kingdom.
These include guidelines on:
- Cataract Surgery
- Children's Eye Care
- Management of Age Related Macular Degeneration
- Management of Squint and Amblyopia
Guidelines from the Royal Australian College
"Clinical Practice Guidelines for Specialists in the Eye Health of Indigenous Australians" were included in Vision for the Future — International Ophthalmology Strategic Plan to Preserve and Restore Vision.
Developed by the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists and published in 2001, the Guidelines cover cataract, diabetic reinopathy and trachoma.
